Surrounded by mountains of tall green trees and incredible wilderness, Mt Harriet National Park is the pride of Port Blair. This park is carved from the forests, further showcasing flora and fauna beautifully. The park got its name from the British artist Harriet C. Tytler.
It was established in 1987 as a forest reserve and also served as headquarters for British officials for a long time. The park is spread over 5 square km and is home to rich biodiversity and panoramic views of the area. It is also the highest peak within the group of islands in Andaman. Getting There
The national park is at a distance of 70 km from Port Blair.
Cabs: Private travel companies in Andaman provide cab services to all major tourist attractions.
Rental: Rental services for two-wheeler vehicles is a choice. Hiring two-wheelers and going round the nearby places connected to the park may be a good option.
Via sea: Tourists can Board the ferry at Chatham dock in Port Blair which will take you to Bambooflat harbour just in 15 minutes. Taking the sea route is preferable and faster.
