The pandemic crisis brought almost the whole world to a standstill. Nations went into lockdown and everyone was restricted to their homes. Companies relying heavily on an office presence for the completion of their tasks found a way to work from home. But this was temporary as industries had to open to prevent an economic meltdown. The world as we know it can’t function at such a slow pace.
There were a lot of changes. And most importantly, something had to change from our regular way of doing things. As a result, the way we travel changed, the way we communicated modified, and we even altered our way of greeting each other.
Far away from the hustle and bustle of the world, our amazingly beautiful and lavish beachfront property, Havelock Island Beach Resort, is nestled in the remote Andaman Islands. Located in Havelock Island (now known as Swaraj Dweep), our resort follow elevated safety protocols and stringent hygiene standards. Also, we conduct mandatory temperature checks for staff and guests on daily basis in order to ensure your safety and a worry-free stay. In case you are willing to go for a vacation to get rid of all the work stress, then a secluded paradise would be a great destination.
New norms to be followed while travelling to the Andaman Islands
COVID-19 Testing
Every passenger is required to either go through a Rapid Antigen Test at Port Blair airport (Veer Savarkar International Airport) or get an RT-PCR test report from the mainland, the sample for which must be given within 48 hours of arrival. The same can be used to board the ferry to Havelock Island. The test is not that costly and the result is given in nearly half an hour. All this will ensure the safety of the island for travellers.
Things to remember

Important Points for Tourists Travelling to the Andaman Islands
The COVID-19 test report has to be from within 48 before starting the journey. It will not be valid if the date of testing is more than 2 days before landing at the Port Blair Airport.
If you have tested negative either through RTPCR from an ICMR approved lab, then no institution or home quarantine is needed.
Travellers going to and from Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) and Havelock Island will not be required to test again if they have a negative test report.
If you start developing symptoms, then you have to immediately report to the nearest PHC/CHC. Necessary testing will be done as per the doctor’s advice.
If a tourist tests positive after arrival, then they have to be in institutional isolation as per existing health protocols. The cost of such isolation will be paid by the tourist as fixed by the administration.
If the positive-tested person wants to stay at a hotel, then the hotel has to make the required arrangements for designating a part of their rooms for institutional isolation for this purpose.
They can stay there provided they meet the below-mentioned conditions:
- If allowed by doctors.
- Request/undertaking is made by the patient in writing.
- Patients are not symptomatic and not above the age of 60.
- There will be thermal checking and scanning at every entry and exit points.
- Now you need more time in hand to visit tourist places in the Andamans as the timings of most places are changed and the opening hours are reduced.
- No group photography is allowed in any place.
